Greetings: This may very well be the most important page of the entire website. Secret Waters intentionally focuses on higher frequencies while avoiding lower frequencies such as bass and drums. There are no vocals to distract.
If you're new and unfamiliar with meditation, the first thing to know is that it is not harmful, nor is it in any way counter to the teachings of your faith. Meditation is actually integral to your spiritual growth.
The difference between prayer and meditation is simple. Prayer allows you to speak to your God, while meditation is expressly designed to quiet your mind from the distractions, the traffic, the job, family life and relations, the highs and lows of day to day living, and just listen. There are those who think personal growth is automatic, it just occurs with no effort or it comes with age. Nothing could be further from the truth. You've heard study to show thyself approved? Well, you'll find practicing prayer and meditation on a daily basis is like showing up for class. Don't be absent!
How to meditate: Find a quiet place to sit relaxed where you will not be disturbed. Turn off your cell phone and if possible dim the lights. Your seated position need not be the traditional lotus position nor should it be in any way uncomfortable. It doesn't have to be on the floor, a comfortable chair will be just fine as long as your not so relaxed that you fall asleep. Close your eyes and imagine a candle stick. At first, not a flame, just a vivid picture of a tall new white candlestick. Now see the yellow flame, flickering a dance from side to side. Notice any other colors in the flame, white, blue? Now finally, notice your breathing. Try to slow your breathing as you inhale and briefly hold. Now slowly exhale fully. Believe it or not, at first outing, slowing your breathing may prove surprisingly challenging but stick with it. Each time will become easier but know that this focus on breathing is essential to your meditation experience. Allow the soft music to engulf you like a warm blanket and enjoy your meditation.
